Grandmas Diet

May 24th, 2010 Posted in Being a Grandma, Grandparenting Tips

My morning start with a small walk at my garden, cutting old leafs and picking up twigs. After I get my ever needed Vitamin D from the sunlight, my breakfast consist mainly of high-fiber and vitamin rich fruits.

However, since we are older, and we cannot complete our diet through food alone, doctors suggest that we should take some supplements. In my case, I take Centrum Silver. One tablet after Read more »

My First Excuse

May 23rd, 2010 Posted in Site News

I was a little too excited writing a blog. My son is trying to teach me the ropes, and although I am a weathered writer, I seem to be too amazed at how technology is bridging the gap in communication. I hope my Grandchildren will read this blog someday and learn that their Grandma cares for them and thinks about them all the time.

Generation Gap

May 22nd, 2010 Posted in Generation Gap

One of the things grand moms must contend with is the generation gap. There is that fear of doing too much and too little. How would one balance the two different worlds divided by time, space and distance?

Being a Grandma

May 22nd, 2010 Posted in Being a Grandma

Being a grandma entailed a paradigm shift. Sometimes I think of the wide gap between their world and mine. The problem is how to bridge the distance –both physical, psychological and emotional. It seems Read more »

Bouncing Baby Ben

May 22nd, 2010 Posted in About Children

After a few years Ben came.  The ever- smiling, roly- poly baby.  His pictures were always fun to look at.

I keep a little picture of him in my wallet and showed it  to all  my friends. He was such a funny boy, always smiling in the pictures as if he will do something mischievous.

Soon he was able to talk and the moments we can talk on the telephone were events I always look forward to..He can sing nursery rhymes, memorize the alphabet and count from one to ten.  Isn’t that precocious for a one-year-old? Just a proud, doting grandmother whose life Read more »

The First Visit

May 22nd, 2010 Posted in About Children

That’s all i dreamed of until they came to visit.  At last the beautiful Kaitlyn and her perky little brother Troy was here.  So this is how it feels to be a grandmother!  To hold this sweet little girl and cute little boy was heaven.  Oh the sweet fragrance of the kids! I delighted in the few words she was able to utter!

The little boy Troy was quite a handful.  He has such tremendous energy for a one and a half year old baby.  just a toddler but boy can he run!  It’s difficult to keep pace with him having such creaky joints and just one-tenth of his energy.

How we love to play with Read more »
